The Daily Blackout utilizes a convoluted and entirely nonsensical rating system. The look, taste, mouthfeel, price, and packaging of each beverage is considered. If the beverage is deemed adequate in a category, it receives a point.
Each beverage also receives an “ABQ” score, or “aggregate blackout quality.” It takes into consideration the price, strength and volume of the beverage. The higher the number, the better the blackout value. An ABQ of 30 is low, 45 is average, and 60 and above is considered good value.
